Our location FAQ

We know you may have some questions about The Vine’s location at the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs (the TexFed). We hope to have answered them all below, and if not, please do contact us!

What time are we meeting?

Our Sunday worship service begins at 10am.

Why central Austin?

We believe this central location will allow us to expand our reach while still being accessible for many communities around Austin!

Where do I park?

There are multiple free parking options available. Please see the map below.

  • The Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs (Tex Fed) building itself has 20 parking spaces in a lot off of 24th street.

  • There is free street parking on Sundays on the streets around the Tex Fed building.

  • There is additional parking at the Neill-Cochran Museum next door.

  • There is also free parking at 24th and Leon St. from 9am-12pm.

  • If needed, there also is a dedicated parking garage located at about 2 blocks from Tex Fed.

Where is the entrance?

The entrance to the TexFed building is off of San Gabriel street. There is a drop-off pull through area in front of the main entrance where you can unload before parking.

Can we use the space during the week?

We will have the opportunity to use the space at the TexFed during the week, as long as it does not conflict with any scheduled events at the site. Our lease includes larger special events on Good Friday, Christmas Eve, and at least 4 others special events during the week.

Does The Vine have an office?

Yes! Our current office is in Southwest Austin, but we will be moving our office to the TexFed building in August 2022!

Is there storage on site?

Yes. We will have several dedicated spaces and closets that we will be able to to store our materials and equipment.

How long are we going to be here?

We are grateful to be able to meet at the Tex Fed for the foreseeable future, and our lease goes until 2024 with the option of continuing on after that.

Will we have a college ministry?

We are excited about the location and its proximity to UT. We hope that The Vine will be a place where college students feel welcome and want to join us in following Jesus together. As college students connect to The Vine, we will remain open to creating a college ministry in a way that matches our culture and meets our capacity.

What is the story with the building?

The Texas Federation of Women's Clubs Headquarters was completed in 1931 to be the headquarters for the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs (TFWC), with assistance from local philanthropist Clara Driscoll. It was designed by Dallas architect Henry Coke Knight and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The building now is largely used for weddings and other large events.

TWFC is a non-profit women's organization in Texas which was founded in 1897. The purpose of the group is to create a central organization for women's clubs and their members in Texas relating to education, the environment, home and civic life, the arts and Texas history.Fun fact: Seventy-percent of public libraries in Texas were created through the work of the members and clubs of the TFWC!
