Shared Practices

One of the most important and potent forces in our lives are our habits. These patterns of actions are scattered throughout our days, unconsciously driving our decisions, actions, lifestyles, and ultimately shaping even our beliefs about the world.

At The Vine, we believe following Jesus involves embodying common habits of contemplation and action as we follow Jesus’ life and teachings. We consider being “practice-based” an integral part of our mission and is one of our community’s unique distinctives.

Below are eight key practices we have identified from the life of Jesus. These habits draw us toward loving God and others. They help us embrace the life God has already invite us into and release all that holds us back from a life of joy, healing and significance.

The goal for these practices is not to create an unattainable checklist or moral score-card. Our hope is to practice the way of Jesus with one another as we slowly become more and more like our Savior and Redeemer.

The practices

There are four daily practices and four weekly practices we are focusing on as a community. We are have created resources (or tools) to help you grow in each of these practices. The purpose is to create pathways to explore these practices in your personal life as well as in your small group. You can explore them in the linked images below:
